Buses will continue to run as usual, as a strike has been averted at Grand River Transit.
A tentative deal was reached early Monday morning between the region and Unifor Local 4304.
The union says the deal is for three years. More details are expected to be released after a ratification vote on Sunday.
“I’m proud of our bargaining committee’s skill and commitment to getting a tentative agreement,” said Rick Lonergan, President of Unifor Local 4304.
Over 600 workers were in a legal strike position as of midnight and had they walked out, service would have been severely disrupted.
